My songs are in MPEG 4 format. You should be able to listen to them if you have any of these:

• an iPod
• iTunes
• QuickTime
• an Apple Mac
• any other software that plays MP4

NOTES:
(1) If you do not like to see advertisements splashed on your video players then choose iTunes, QuickTime, or VLC first. Perhaps RealPlayer has removed advertisements from the recent versions of their media player, but I haven't tried it recently.

(2) Why isn't Microsoft listed? Microsoft has chosen to not support the International Standards Organizations (ISO) MPEG 4 specification in their media player. I can only guess why, MPEG 4 is a very high quality codec, and designed for making it easy for everyone to access files on any operating system; no company owns the specification and thus no licensing fees are required. This page at MS's web site has some details. Warning, apparently you can attempt to add the ability to play back MPEG 4 to their media player, but their descriptions and hoops you have to jump through are complicated. It is exceedingly bothersome to me that the largest software company in the world has made things so difficult for their users to access open file formats.
